The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security have issued instructions banning police in the country from wearing black sunglasses, from smoking, from reading books and from putting their hands into pockets while on duty at public places.
Under the new order, officers from the People's Police of Vietnam must keep appropriate manners and be in the right position when on duty.
This means traffic police must not hide behind trees to ambush and issue fines.
They are also prohibited from drinking alcohol during their working time and at the police station, and are not allowed to be heavily drunk at any time or any place, the ministry said. They also cannot eat at restaurants that illegally encroach onto pavements.

The police officer was on duty at a trade fair in the city of Bulawayo earlier this month when he was caught using a loo reserved for President Robert Mugabe has been arrested and held in jail .
Sergeant Alois Mabhunu has spent the past three weeks in police custody after he used the 87-year-old despot's loo.
According to local reports, the murder squad detective was caught short while on duty at a trade fair in the city of Bulawayo on May 7.
He rushed to the first toilet he could find, which had been reserved for use by the President Mugabe during his visit to the show.
Police guards tried to block Mabhunu's access, but he fought his way through and locked himself in, the police charge sheet reportedly claims.
Having relieved himself, Sergeant Mabhunu then resumed his duties. But the toilet guards reported the incident to the secret police and he was arrested the next day.
Mabhunu has been held in a police detention barracks ever since. He was due to appear before a police disciplinary hearing today.
Police spokesperson Mandlenkosi Moyo refused comment, saying it was an 'internal matter'.
Robert Mugabe has ruled Zimbabwe ever since he helped it win independence from Britain in 1980.
Under his despotic regime, the police and security services have harassed anyone thought to pose a political threat.

During his 31 years in power, the now frail former military leader has developed a fearsome, Soviet-style cult of personality.
Observers say the 87-year-old autocrat is fiercely protected by large squadrons of secret police and soldiers wherever he goes. 
Motorists who accidentally get in the way of Mugabe's motorcade are routinely assaulted and have no recourse to the law.

Commenting on the toilet arrest, human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa questioned what offence Sergeant Mabhunu was being charged with.
'There has to be a law saying the toilet is the president's, but this was a public one', she said.
'They will have had to issue a proclamation in the government gazette specifying it. I bet they didn't do that.'

In March 1993 Kevin Carter made a trip to southern Sudan and took this photograph. The picture would later bring him the Pulitzer prize, but also death. The girl had stopped to rest while struggling to reach the refugee camp, nearby a vulture is waiting her to die. It is a horrific picture that gave people a true look at the dire condition in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Kevin then came under a lot of scrutiny for spending over 20 minutes setting up the photo instead of helping the child. Three months after taking the photo, he committed suicide.

A London school has banned pupils from giving each other high-fives, handshakes - or even HUGS.
Governors imposed the "no contact" rule as they say it prevents fighting or bullying.
Dayna Chong, 15, was thrown into detention for cuddling a female pal at The Quest Academy, in Croydon, South London.

Mum Anita, 33, from nearby New Addington, said the policy was "extreme" and "ludicrous".
She said: "If the kids can't even hug each other at school some of them will never learn how to be socially interactive.
"School is supposed to be where we start teaching our children how to be social - shaking hands, hugging, opening up. You need an embrace to comfort you when things go wrong. I've never heard of anything so crazy in my life."

Year Ten pupil Dayna said: "I was just hugging my friend in the morning to say hello and I had to sit on my own and miss out on break because of it.
"They're trying to turn us into robots."
Fellow mum Sarah Hope's 15-year-old daughter got into trouble for giving a friend a high-five.
She said: "It's a very, very cold policy. I think it's sad that the children are missing out on this sort of closeness."
The Quest Academy has 800 pupils aged from 11 to 18.
A spokesman said: "Physical contact between students is not allowed because it is often associated with poor behaviour or bullying and can lead to fighting."
Principal Andy Crofts added: "It creates a disciplined environment which is essential for learning and respect." -

Indian Sadhus perform all kinds of unusual tasks in the name of religion, like sleeping in an up-right position, never taking baths, fasting for long periods of time, but Amar Bharati’s choice is truly one of the most bizarre I’ve ever seen.

Sadhu Amar Bharati is an Indian holy man who claims he has kept his right hand raised in the air since 1973. Now, 38 years later, his hand is just a useless piece of skin and bone, but has become a symbol for Shiva worshipers around India.

Until 1970, Amar Bharati was an average middle-class man who lived a normal life. He had a job, a home, a wife and three children, but none of that mattered when he woke up one morning and decided to leave everything behind and dedicate his life to serving the Hindu god Shiva. He began wandering the roads of India dressed in his simple Sadhu clothes and carrying only his trusty Trishula (a metal trident). After three years, in 1973, Amar realized he was still too connected to the fading luxury and pleasures of mortal life, and decided to separate himself from them by raising his right arm and keeping it raised. 38 years later, his arm is still up and he couldn’t use it, even if he wanted to.

Other sources claim Amar Bharati felt disillusioned by all the fighting going on in the world, and decided to raise his right arm for peace. A respected Sadhu at the Kumbh Mela, in Haridwar, Amar has inspired other Sadhus to raise their arms for peace and harmony, and some of them have kept them raised for the last seven, thirteen, even 25 years. But doing something like this doesn’t just mean giving up the functionality of an important body part, it also implies dealing with a lot of pain. Bharati himself says he went through excruciating pain for a long time, but not anymore. That’s because his arm is completely atrophied and stuck in a bizarre, semi-vertical position, a useless bony structure ending in thick, twisted nails that he never clips.
