Li Fan and Cheng Yuanyuan fell in love the moment their eyes met at a gathering arranged by a friend in China last year.

After dating for a year, the couple from Jiangsu province tied the knot but their happiness lasted for only half a day.

On their first night together, Li Fan detected a foul odour as he slept on the bed beside his wife.

He asked Cheng if the smell was from her, but she denied it at first and admitted to having a problem with body odour later.

Her answer also made Li Fan understand why Cheng had always kept him waiting for hours on their dates.

"Whenever I asked her whey she was late, she would say she was putting on make up but now I know the answer.

"She was trying hard to cover up her body odour!" said the angry Li Fan, who felt he was cheated.

On seeing her husband's reaction, Cheng took her belongings and returned to her parents' home.

The couple has not met since.

Two months after the marriage, Li Fan filed a divorce from Cheng at a court in Wuxi.

အဂၤလိပ္လုိ သတင္းေလးပါ....

Love remained unattainable dreams for Dong Zhijun and Yuan Wanyu from China until they got to know each other over a year ago.

Dong, a 23-year-old from a remote county named Tai'an in Liaoning Province, was born with congenital rickets.

Suffering from the tragic disease, Dong - dubbed "Mini Boy" or "Shorty" - is only 80cm tall. He spent most of his childhood in bed since he was prone to fractures.

At the age of 18, Dong asked his mother to buy him a second-hand computer, saying that he would like to be a helpful man rather than be a burden to society.
Several years of hard work paid off. He became a savvy in website construction and Internet technology.
Now he is a founder of four websites and an operation supervisor of seven websites and he has been recruited as an IT clerk by an information services company.
He also set up a vegetable plantation and provided green vegetables for  local residents and city dwellers.
The story of Dong conquering physical and social challenges spread beyond his hometown and tugged at the heartstrings of Yuan, a girl in Guangdong Province.
Yuan, 21, was accidentally burnt and suffered great disfigurement when she was one.
She survived but lost the fingers in her left hand and her nose was burned off. For 20 years, Yuan had been unable to close her eyes due to the disfigurement.
Financial difficulties forced Yuan to give up her dreams of going to college and the discrimination caused by her features and physical defects also caused the high-school graduate to lose many job opportunities, throwing her into despair.
In 2009, Yuan - who was dejected after several unsuccessful job interviews - found a confidante in a head-hunting website for the disabled.
That confidante happened to be Dong.
Sharing the same fate, Yuan found herself geting a crush on Dong and gradually accepted him as her Mr Right.
"He is a very kind man," she said.

In early April this year, Dong confessed his feelings to Yuan.
"I love her from my heart and I will warm her heart all my life," he said.
Yuan was deeply touched by Dong’s sincerity and soon moved to his home in Liaoning.
Dong took all his savings and brought her for cosmetic therapy.
Their love gave them not only hope but help.
After finding out the couple’s story, Shenyang Xiehe Cosmetic Hospital decided to waive 100,000 yuan (RM46,240) in surgical fees.
"To me, she is the holiest and most gorgeous girl in the world," Dong said.
"I will marry her after she completes all the surgeries so that she can finally put on a beautiful wedding dress.
"No matter what happens, Wanyu and I will face up to it together."

More than 1.14 per cent of the world's population are members of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which means that out of every 100 people, one is a member of the party.

On Monday, a senior official of the party announced that it has a record high of 77.99 million members as of last year.

The figure is 116 times higher than it was in 1949 when the People's Republic of China was founded, said Wang Qinfeng – deputy head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Wang said last year alone, more than 20 million people applied to join the party but it only recruited two million, he said.

Of the total CPC members, about 18.5 million were under 35 years old and close to 28 million held a college degree or higher qualification, said Wang.

He said CPC members had taken the lead in helping China host the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics in 2008, the celebrations in conjunction with the 60th founding anniversary of the country, as well as in the relief work of the Sichuan and Yushu earthquakes.

According to Wikipedia, China has the largest population in the world with 1,338,350,000 people that make up 19.59% of the world's population, followed by India (1,182,540,000), United States (309,612,000) and Indonesia (231,369,000), as of June 29, 2010.

YANGON, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has discovered a raw jade stone weighing 115 tons at Phakant mining area in the country's northernmost Kachin state, the local Newsweek journal reported Friday.

The jade stone, the second largest one to be mined in the past decade, was excavated by Max Myanmar company, the report said.                                    
The world's largest jade stone weighing about 3,000 tons was discovered in Phakant in 2000.

The giant jade stone, measuring 21 meters long, 4.8 meters wide and 10.5 meters high was found at a depth of 12 meters underground, an earlier report said.
The country also claimed that it possesses the world's largest ruby weighing 21,450 carats, the largest star sapphire weighing 63, 000 carats, the biggest peridot weighing 329 carats and the biggest pearl weighing 845 carats.
There are six mining areas in Myanmar under gem and jade exploration, namely, Mongshu and Namhyar in Shan state, Mogok in Mandalay division, Khamhti in Sagaing division, Moenyin and Phakant in Kachin state.
Myanmar, a well-known producer of gems in the world, boasts ruby, diamond, cat's eye, emerald, topaz, pearl, sapphire, coral and a variety of garnet tinged with yellow.
The government's Central Statistical Organization revealed that in the fiscal year 2008-09, Myanmar produced 32,921 tons of jade and 18,728 million carats of gems which include ruby, sapphire, spinel and peridot, as well as 201,081 mommis (754 kilograms) of pearl.
