TOWERING over the landscape two thirds of a mile high, this is how the tallest building in the world will look. 

Plans have been unveiled for the $1.2billion Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 

At 3,285ft, it will dwarf The Shard in London, which when completed will be the EU's tallest building at 1,017ft.

The Kingdom Tower deal was signed between Jeddah Economic Co., a KHC affiliate, and the Binladen Group, a construction giant. Binladen will hold 16.6 percent stake in JEC.

The Kingdom Tower, designed by US architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill, will contain a hotel, flats, office space and the world's highest observatory.
