He’s known as the ‘gentle giant’ around school and his fellow pupils and teachers certainly look up to him.
At only 15 years of age, Bradley Fisher measures in at 6ft 11in… and he’s still growing.
He is more than two feet taller than one of his smallest schoolfriends, Zoe McDermott, who stands at 4ft 6in.
Luckily for Bradley, who has to import size 15 shoes from America and sleeps in a specially-made bed, his size helps him play Basketball.

He has just been selected to represent England at under-16 level.
‘I love playing basketball so being tall really helps with that and it gives me an edge,’ said the teenager from Chorley, Lancashire.
And despite having duck for every door frame, Bradley insists nothing tops being of great height.
‘I like being tall,’ said the Year 10 pupil at Southlands. ‘My friends think it’s really good and so do my mum and dad.
‘It definitely comes in handy when I go shopping with my mum and she needs things from the top shelf.
‘When it comes to buying clothes, we just have to order the biggest size and then hope it fits.’
Bradley, who is preparing for the European basketball championships in Nottingham, added: ‘Even when I was at nursery I was much taller than everyone else.

‘People always said I was going to be tall, but it seemed to go in phases when I would grow and then stop and then grow again.’
The player already has five inches on the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan, who measured in at 6ft 6in.
However, he has at least eight inches to grow before being in the running for the title of Britain’s tallest teen.

That accolade is currently held by 19-year-old Paul Sturgess who is 7ft 7in tall.
Southlands deputy head Brian Souter said Bradley is the tallest pupil he has taught there in more than 35 years.
He said: ‘He is by far the tallest student we have had at Southlands whilst I have taught here.
‘I think other than Bradley we had a pupil who was 6ft 7in, but that was in the 1970s.
‘He is a gentle giant – very friendly, very popular and a well intentioned student.’

A 16-year-old girl who was raped in Bangladesh has been given 101 lashes for conceiving during the assault. The girl's father was also fined and warned the family would be branded outcasts from their village if he did not pay.
According to human rights activists, the girl, who was quickly married after the attack, was divorced weeks later after medical tests revealed she was pregnant.

The girl was raped by a 20-year-old villager in Brahmanbaria district in April last year. She was so ashamed following the attack that she did not lodge a complaint.

Her rape emerged after her pregnancy test and Muslim elders in the village issued a fatwa insisting that the girl be kept in isolation until her family agreed to corporal punishment.

Her rapist was pardoned by the elders. She said the rapist had "spoiled" her life. "I want justice," she said.

"When I saw that I could no longer count on her (his wife), so that I would't keep bothering her, I made the decision to cut my testicles off because I am a Christian and did not want to go look for another (partner)."The man is being treated at Santander Hospital where Dr. Javier Martinez said he is still healing: "He still has an escroto-penial hematoma. He's been looked at by the urology department, and they found a complete absence of the testicles." According to doctors, Sanchez's wounds have become infected.

With the help of Nola Wilson, a small animal extention agent with the Marion County Extension Office, Wilson verified that Cruz's chicken in fact has two two pubic areas. The two pubic areas is where chickens lay eggs and relieve themselves. "We give the eggs away to neighbors," Cruz said. "We just want to keep her. We don't want to make any profit. Now we'll keep her until one of the hawks come and get her," Cruz said with a chuckle.

There is a chicken in Ocala with two rear-ends.

Not Earth-shattering news, mind you, but it is an anomaly that has a Marion County agricultural agent puzzled and seeking answers. How is this possible? How common is it? Should the hen breed?

Southwest Ocala residents Alfredo and Ana Cruz bought the Red Star chicken from a friend recently with a batch of other chickens. They raise the animals for fun, eating and sharing the egg bounty with friends and family.

Weeks after the purchase, Ana said, she noticed the hen had a fuller back area, accentuated by the chicken's plume of white feathers. The couple brushed the feathers away and found two pubic regions, spaced about two inches apart horizontally. Typically, there is one such region in the center with a single orifice.

The couple dubbed the chicken J-Lo after shapely celebrity Jennifer Lopez.

"You know the singer? She has a lot of butt. Well, this one is bigger," Alfredo said Wednesday, motioning toward the chicken, which was snacking on uncooked rice and casually strolling around her pet-carrying case.

He spoke from the Marion County Agricultural Complex, where the couple met Nola Wilson, the small-animal extension agent. The appointment was set up so Wilson could examine the chicken.

Wilson's professional assessment: Yes, J-Lo has two pubic regions, one slightly larger than the other. And, no, Wilson has never seen anything like it.

Mum-of-two Cheryl Roberts became suspicious about the amount of time husband David spent on his computer in his study.

And she sprang into action after seeing a lurid message left on the machine by Roberts, 69, while he went out.

It said, "You are a f****** beautiful bitch" and was signed with his nickname, Corky. Cheryl waited until Roberts went back online at their home in Bridgend, South Wales.

She then created a profile of a 14-year-old schoolgirl on another computer in a different room - and contact was made.

Soon ex-pub landlord Roberts propositioned her, thinking she was the girl, and asked her to meet him for sex.

He used a webcam as he "chatted". And Cheryl, just a few yards away from him in reality, watched horrified as he performed a sex act.

Cops seized his computer and found dozens of child porn images on it. Cardiff Crown Court heard that for weeks, Roberts believed he had been caught through downloading the pictures.

And he was stunned when cops eventually told him the "girl" he was grooming was wife Cheryl - and she had shopped him.
During interviews Roberts denied having sex with any young girls but admitted he was "prepared to do so".

He admitted engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and making and possessing illegal images.

Roberts was given a three-year community order with compulsory attendance on a sex offenders programme.

He was also banned from having access in person or online to children under 18.

Cheryl, who has divorced Roberts, told a friend after the case she had no regrets over nailing him - and that his punishment should have been more severe.
The wife - married to Roberts for 20 years - said nothing to him but went straight to police and the NSPCC.

She said: "I was shocked - I don't think he got what he deserves. I thought the judge would be a lot harder and he might go to prison."

Cheryl added: "I still feel very angry towards him. It is hard to think a man you married could do this.

"But I did the right thing and I don't regret it. Now I just need some time to think and put all this behind me."

Defence lawyer Byron Bradstock said Roberts was going through a "dark patch" at the time of the offence.

His marriage was failing and any intimacy with his wife was a distant memory, the court was told.

Mr Bradstock added: "He has brought shame on himself and his family."

Sayadaw U Jotika: Born into a non-Buddhist family in Moulmein, Myanmar (Burma) on August 5, 1947. His parents were U Sattar and Daw Tin. He received his basic education at a Roman Catholic missionary school. During his younger days, he didn’t believe in any organized religion although he studied and exposed himself to many different religions, as well as western philosophy and psychology.
He graduated as an Electrical Engineer in 1973 from Rangoon Institute of Technology. He became very interested in Buddhist meditation. He discovered that life was unsatisfactory and majority of the people devoted their precious time mainly in gathering wealth, enjoying sensual pleasures, fame, power and position.
Thus, he decided to leave behind his family and became a “Samenera” (Novice) at the age of 26. He was ordained as a “Samgha” in 1974 at Taung Pu Lu Tawya, Meiktila with Ven. Taung Pu Lu Sayadaw as his preceptor. He practiced meditation under the guidance of the late Ven. Taung Pu Lu Sayadaw for (3) years. He continued to practice meditation with Htantabin Tawya Sayadaw for (15) years.
Ven. Jotika visited Melbourne in 1977 and again in 1998. He was in the United States in 1983-84 for about (16) months, conducting Dhamma talks in Santa Cruz, New York, Boston and Washington. He had visited Singapore several times on Dhamma Duta missions as well.
He has established a monastery in a rural environment overlooking a great lake near Pago, (50) miles north of Yangon. His Dhamma talks and books are in great demand in Myanmar as well as with overseas Burmese. He has published about (13) titles so far. One of his popular Dhamma book in English is “Snow in the Summer”

Last night’s talk was wonderful example of that. A popular and respected teacher here in Bangkok, Sayadaw U Jotika, originaly from Burma, spoke about ‘Praise and Blame’ and based his talk on the reference to the eight vicissitudes of life in the Mangala Sutta. He recited the Pali, explained each phrase, and then focused on one small section, explaining why praise and blame are vicissitudes, and giving practical ideas for dealing with them.
Everyone, he pointed out, has been praised, and everyone has suffered criticism at times, even the Buddha. Then Sayadaw went on to talk about his experiences growing up, reading about religion, and struggling to find his own understanding of life, which brought criticism from his family, friends, and society. Ask too many questions, he recounted, and people will soon see you as a nuisance, and even dangerous.
After every few minutes U Jotika, speaking in English, would pause while his talk was translated into Thai, giving the evening a gentle, rolling, rhythm, and in a hall packed with hundreds of people, with the crowd spilling even into the corridors outside, there was a wonderful attentive silence throughout. “But” he said, “the Buddha said not to believe”, and it was that which, and U Jotika pointed out the humour in this, brought him to trust and love the Buddha.
“Then it becomes my religion, very personal, and not the same as anyone else’s” he said. “Not in a possessive way, but in such a way as it’s fully yours and infuses your whole life.” And he gave examples of how he himself learnt to deal with blame, based on seeing for himself how his responses worked. At first, when criticised, he’d argue back, later he’d just try to explain, later still he realised that he didn’t need to do anything.
In the long run it becomes obvious who is right or wrong. There’s no need to say anything. Stop, he said, let go, and move on. This gives you more freedom. If you respond to every criticism, he said, you are a puppet, in the control of others. It’s the same if you seek praise. The solution is mindfulness. Pay attention to your mind and the qualities of your mind, pay attention to how you feel when praised or blamed, and you will overcome.
Listen to your own wisdom. And do listen to the advice of people you know to be wise. And when giving criticism to others, as from a parent to a child for example, be calm, he said, make sure the time is right, and don’t do it publicly to bring shame on anyone. Educate, don’t punish. And don’t forget that the biggest critic is yourself, so correct yourself and regain your self-respect.
These lessons from the Mangala Sutra, he repeatedly pointed out, are to be lived and not just recited. Don’t be manipulated by praise or blame, and don’t use praise and blame to manipulate others. Live out your own life, he said, and don’t allow the world to be your master. The less you are effected by the opinions of others, the more you can rely upon mindfulness and your own wisdom, the more freedom and dignity you have.
The evening finished with some chanting, including some of those hymn-like chants that I really love listening to, and many people stayed to make merit and buy copies of U Jotika’s books in Thai and English. I bought his most popular book, Snow in Summer, which has sold over a million copies, and hope to read it some time soon. If the book contains the same wisdom and inspiration as I saw in the talk last night, I’m in for a real treat.

A Taiwanese artist has created what he claims is the smallest sculpture of a tiger ever made - so small it could fit through the eye of a needle, and can only be seen properly with a magnifying glass. Chen Forng-shean, who has been sculpting as a hobby for around 30 years, carved the tiger from resin in anticipation of the Chinese lunar Year of the Tiger, which begins on February 14.

Standing at just 1 millimetre (0.04 inch) high, and just over a millimetre long, he says that it's the world's tiniest tiger.

But Chen admits that the brightly coloured beast nearly got the best of him over 10 attempts to create it: 'If the hands shake a little bit, the work would jump away and disappear.'

The single animal, created after three months of intensive labour, was finished in November and Chen - a minting plate designer by trade - said it was worth 3 million Taiwanese dollars (around £58,000), although it is not for sale.

-- One of the flamboyant entrepreneurs making it big in booming Vietnam unveiled a massive precious stone on Monday that he plans to transform into the world's largest jade Buddha.
Dao Trong Cuong, the owner of a Vietnamese gem mine, purchased the 35-tonne stone in Myanmar last year for $2 million and imported it to Vietnam in October. By the time a team of 50 artists and sculptors finishes chipping away at it, the finished Buddha is expected to weigh nearly 20 tonnes.
"We hope to get it into the Guinness Book of World Records," Cuong told a crowd of nearly 2,000 people during a ceremony unveiling the stone, which is 10 feet (3 metres) tall, 6.5 feet wide, and 6.5 feet deep.Cuong counts some of Vietnam's most powerful political figures among his friends, including President Nguyen Minh Triet, who spoke at Monday's ceremony after about 250 monks in saffron robes chanted and rang bells. "This unique artistic work will be passed on to many generations," said Triet. Triet pulled back a curtain covering the massive hunk of jade, which has been temporarily adorned with a painting of a tranquil Buddha sitting in the lotus position.
Cuong said it will take two years to complete the statue.
A search of the Guinness Book Web site showed no entries for the world's largest jade Buddha. But according to Vietnamese media reports, the world's biggest existing jade Buddha weighs 4 tons and stands 9 feet tall. It was taken on a tour of Buddhist temples in Vietnam and Australia last year.
Buddhism is the largest religious faith in Vietnam, a nation of 86 million where the government strictly controls religious organisations. While some Buddhist sects have been involved in highprofile conflicts with the government, the monks at Monday's ceremony belonged to the officially sanctioned Buddhist Church of Vietnam. Like China, its massive northern neighbour, communist Vietnam has implemented market reforms in recent years that have unleashed rapid economic growth, which has averaged nearly 8 percent for the last decade.
Once reviled by communist revolutionaries, millionaire businessmen are now seen as role models, creating jobs and developing the country.
Cuong struck it rich in Vietnam's late 1980s gemstone rush. Among his business ventures is a studio that makes artworks out of crushed gemstones, such as rubies and emeralds. He has made portraits of Vietnam's revolutionary hero Ho Chi Minh, former President George W. Bush and Bill Gates.
Cuong, 54, is not shy about displays of wealth.
He was among the first Vietnamese to purchase a Hummer, which cost him $300,000 to import from the United States.

The daily grind at the office may not seem so bad after viewing these startling images.
For, no matter how grumpy your boss may be this morning, at least you aren't actually risking life and limb by sticking your head in his jaws.
But that is exactly what the crocodile wrestlers at a Thai zoo do on a daily basis.
This astonishing series of photographs shows the men at the Samphran Elephant Ground and Zoo performing what may well be the world's most dangerous job.

The wranglers have been performing the stunts at the zoo on the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand, since it was set up in 1985.
During the hour-long shows they stick their head between the jaws of some of the zoo's biggest crocs, in the style of Krai Thong, a legendary Thai crocodile hunter.
Photographer Bronek Kaminski, who witnessed the feat on a trip to the attraction, said: 'They are quite lively crocodiles. They are not lying around half asleep all the time.
'They are chomping at a bamboo stick and snapping their jaws and then they guys put them into some sort of trance and put their head into the croc's mouth.

'He keeps it in there for a long time, and puts his arm in, right up to his shoulder.
'Then the crocodile goes back to being a wild animal. It's very impressive.
'I was not sure if they were actually going to do it so when they do you are really taken back by it.'
The centre also doubles up as a breeding zoo, and has more than 10,000 crocodiles.

The naked rambler, Stephen Gough, has been told he will spend the rest of his life behind bars if he continues refusing to wear clothes in public. The former Royal Marine, who became notorious for his naked hike from Land's End to John O'Groats in 2003, has spent much of the past seven years in prison for repeatedly appearing nude in public.He was yesterday found guilty of breaching the peace when he walked naked from Perth prison in December after finishing a 12 month sentence for the same offence. Mr Gough was warned he will continue to be jailed every time he steps out of prison without any clothes on.The 50-year-old, who conducted his own defence while appearing in court completely naked, turned down an offer to walk free yesterday on the condition that he got dressed.Sheriff Lindsay Foulis told Gough she would consider granting him bail to go home to his "warmer" house in Eastleigh, Hampshire, if he agreed to put some clothes on. The former lorry driver refused the offer and was remanded in custody.Ordering psychological and psychiatric reports, the Sheriff said: "When the day comes for you to be released, you will be apprehended and the same process gone through again.” Mr Gough said he accepted he could "potentially" remain in jail forever and added: "This is about individual freedom."

The father of two has spent most of the past seven years in Scottish jails after stripping off on a flight to Edinburgh. Since then he has declined to wear prison uniform or to appear clothed in court, resulting in further custodial sentences for contempt. Mr Gough completed his first naked ramble across Britain in 2003. He was arrested 15 times during the journey and spent 140 nights in jail, mainly in Scotland where the authorities take a stricter approach to public nudity than in England and Wales. He finished his second hike with his then girlfriend Melanie Roberts three years later.
