A 28-year old PhD graduate was caught shoplifting at a supermarket in Taiwan.

The temporary teacher went to the store near his house in Taipei aftert 9pm on Sunday.
The shopkeeper saw him putting some ice-cream and beverages into a bag, but did not say anything.
And just as the man was about to leave after only paying for a can drink, worth NT$10 (RM1), at the counter, the shopkeeper stopped him.
After a search, unpaid goods worth over NT$400 (RM41) were recovered from the man.
His mother, who was informed of the son’s act, rushed to the police station and found more than NT$800 (RM83) in his wallet.
"You have the money, why are you not paying?" she scolded her son but was speechless after listening to his explanation.
The man apparently told her that he was saving up for the future.

Police said the suspect was from of a well-off family.
