A helicopter landed at Dezhou University in China on a sunny day.

Apparently, it was a father - who went to pick up her daughter in a high profile manner.

The incident has rocked the university, located in Shandong province, with students rushing out of the classrooms to watch the chopper.

A video of the event was posted on the Internet that stirred up an online sensation and worries about the low-altitude flight.

Later, netizens found that it was "illegal" to fly the chopper.

"The company that owns the helicopter had neither registered with the supervisory body - Shandong bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China - nor filed any application for the flight.

"This means the surprise landing at the university was unauthorised," Xinhua reported.

Dezhou University said that the pilot was the student’s father and he was picking up his daughter after finishing some pesticide-spraying work.
