Protesting air hostesses have stripped off to publicise their row with their employers over unpaid wages.
The nine girls, all flight attendants with the now bankrupt Spanish Air Comet airline, posed nude for a calendar to "continue to publicize their situation and demand a solution".
The airline failed to pay staff for up to nine months before it finally filed for bankruptcy last December.
The company had debts of around 160 millions euros when it folded including unpaid wages.
Now the girls have decided to pose for the calendar to highlight their demand for unpaid wages to be paid as a priority from the firm's assets by showing off their own assets.
They are also hoping to earn money from the calendar "to help their financial situation," says Michel Velasco from Azafatas Alta con Tacon, an agency for flight attendants and models and one of the co-organisers of the project.

A Chinese zoo has been slammed for letting a three-year-old girl walk a tightrope eight metres above a tiger enclosure.
The little girl walked along the 130 metre long high wire above six hungry Siberian tigers at Changzhou Yancheng Zoo in Jiangsu province.
She was part of a routine which also involved two adult acrobats who crossed the wire using a bicycle and a ladder as props.
But the crowd gasped when three-year-old Zhang Xiaoyan started to walk along the wire, with a thin safety rope attached around her waste.
Witnesses said people screamed when she nearly lost her footing on the first step, as a strong gust of wind nearly blew her off the wire.
The little girl walked along the wire without even a pole, using just her arms for balance, as the tigers prowled below. One even jumped up towards her.
Horrified visitors criticised the zoo for putting on the stunt which they said amounted to child abuse.
"If she was my child, I would never let her do anything like that no matter how talented she is," complained one parent.
A zoo spokesman said they had hired a professional group, the Jiangxi Elite Children Arts Troupe, to put on the routine which met all safety requirements.
Zhang Shenwen, director of Jiangxi Elite Children Arts Troupe, said Xiaoyan was the world's youngest high wire walker, and had been training since she was just one.
"She has very good psychological control," he added, saying she would retire at the age of seven to go to school and eventually planned to go to university.

A British expatriate in Dubai is facing jail and deportation after being accused of making a single-finger gesture in an argument. Simon Andrews, 56, has had his passport confiscated for almost eight months while waiting for his case to be heard.
He told Dubai Court of Misdemeanours he denies "flipping the finger" at Mahmoud Rasheed, an Iraqi aviation student, during an argument. He will appear in court on Sunday for a full hearing of the case.
Mr Andrews has said Mr Rasheed, who has not yet appeared in court to give evidence, is mistaken and no finger was raised. At a court hearing on Sunday, he asked for the passport put up as bail surety for him by a friend to be returned as the friend had to go abroad for work.
He was told to provide another passport in its place. His own passport has also been confiscated, preventing him leaving Dubai before the case is heard. Making insulting gestures is regarded as unacceptable, and carries with it the possibility of a jail sentence of up to six months and deportation.

In 165 days, the two brothers have hauled the carriage more than 4,500 km from Heilongjiang province in the northeast to Fujian province in the southeast. Their target destination is Taiwan. "Our biggest dream is to carry our mother around the island," Wang Kai said.
The carriage, built for 5,000 yuan ($ 730), is fitted with three beds, windows and heat-retaining panels to make mom comfortable. The brothers named it "Thanksgiving" to express gratitude for their mother's love.

On the road, Wang Kai pulls the carriage from the front while younger brother Wang Rui, 57, pushes it from behind. So far, they have worn out six pairs of shoes. "I can walk 107 steps every minute and 10 hours every day, which means 65,000 steps or about 40 km a day," said Wang Rui.

Chinese doctors claim to have discovered the biggest case of man boobs in the world after a 53-year-old dairy farmer turned up at a specialist chest clinic in Beijing. Doctor Zhang Lilan at the Jinan Chest Hospital said: "The man is in every way male except for his enormous breasts. He is a farmer and says they are extremely uncomfortable as he has to do a lot of manual work and they get in the way of everything.


"He said it has also attracted a lot of attention in the village where he comes from with people turning up to point and laugh at him, so much so that he now has to wear a heavy coat to cover up his figure even in the hottest weather."

The man, 53-year-old Guo Feng, said: "About 10 years ago my chest started to get larger but I didn't think much of it as I was putting on weight all over - but in the last few years it's become unbearable and I have been from one hospital to the other with nobody able to help me.
"I have spent all my money on examinations and tests and am still no nearer a solution - in fact my breasts are now bigger than ever. I sometimes think the doctors don't want to help me with this because they find me a medical curiosity."
He says if no one can help him he will cut them off himself and has appealed for doctors to do something before that. But the doctors say they do not want to act until they have identified what the problem is.
Doctor Zhang Lilan added: "In 30 years of working as specialist here at the chest clinic I have never seen anything like it." Clinic boss Gaoyong Hong added: "We wondered if he had eaten any poisons or contaminants but have found nothing after testing his blood. His genetic material is also normal. We did an Xray. It is not a cancer. It seems to be fatty tissue - at the most the best we can suggest is that it is the biggest case of man boobs ever."

A grandmother from Minnesota has solved one of life’s most fiddly domestic tasks by inventing a sewing needle that can be threaded by the clumsiest of hands.

Rather than having to painstakingly wet the end of the thread and pass it through the eye, Pam Turner’s design is foolproof for even the most inept of seamstresses. Her Spiral Eye invention is a stainless steel needle with a gap in the metal on one side of the eye

A loop of thread is draped over the needle and then pulled into the eye before being secured in the normal way. The 57-year-old said she was inspired to redesign the sewing needle, which has seen little change over the centuries, after watching her mother struggle threading the traditional style implement.
 
She claims that her needle, which costs £3.69, allows users to get sewing within a matter of seconds and can be threaded with your eyes closed. She has refused to disclose her secret about how she made the needle, but admits that it takes more specialised equipment than the traditional needle-making process.

Police in the US state of Ohio say tens of thousands of dollars are missing a day after a bag of cash fell from an armoured car, sparking a money grab.
A mad rush to pick up $20 bills broke out after the bag fell from the car in Columbus and split open.

It is unclear how much cash was in the bag, but US media say it was at least $100,000.
Officers are reviewing mobile phone and surveillance videos to identify who has the missing cash.
More than $100,000 (£67,000) is missing. But police were able to recover an equal amount and members of the public handed in $12,000.
"It's not free money," said a police sergeant. If people were found with the missing cash they would be charged, Sgt Dan Kelso said.

A talented micro-sculptor has proven you really can see the world in a grain of sand - after carving this incredible church from a single granule that fits inside the eye of a needle.
William Wigan, 52 made a name for himself by sculpting tiny recreations of everything from Barack Obama and his family, to Neil Armstrong on the moon's surface.
He was challenged by his girlfriend Sarah Slade, who lives at the foot of Chosen Hill in Churchdown, near Gloucester, to sculpt the hilltop parish church St Bartholomew's.

And he has achieved it with a model so small it cannot be seen by the naked eye.
'I looked at the church and thought it was wonderful,' said Mr Willard. 
'Rachel said "I bet you couldn't do it" and every time I saw it I was fascinated. Finally I thought "yes, I could do it".
'It took about six weeks and it was very difficult because I had to get my proportions right.' 

Mr Willard uses tiny shards of glass stuck to a needle, and a brush made from one of his eyelashes to create his minute masterpieces.
'If I made a mistake it would have been impossible to fix. I wanted to put in as much detail as I possibly could.
'I put in some stained glass windows. The whole sculpture us the size of a full stop in a newspaper. It's quite painstaking, in fact it was driving me insane.  
'When you're working on something so small it causes a problem if you apply too much pressure.
'And I've made things so small in the past that I've sometimes inhaled it.' 
Mr Willard, from Birmingham, started working on small sculptures as a boy when, unhappy at school, he retreated to a fantasy world and made homes for little ants in the garden.
His mother saw them and praised him for his work, starting a passion that would turn into a career.
He said: 'She told me that the smaller my work, the bigger my name would be.'
Mr Willard says work of this scale is his passion and hopes to arrange an exhibition in Gloucestershire in the future.

An island that has been at the centre of a 30 year dispute between India and Bangladesh has disappeared beneath rising seas.
Sea patrols and satellite pictures reveal New Moore Island in the Bay of Bengal is now completely submerged, reports the Daily Telegraph.
India and Bangladesh both claimed the uninhabited island, which was about 2 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. Bangladesh referred to the island as South Talpatti.
"What these two countries could not achieve from years of talking, has been resolved by global warming," said Sugata Hazra, professor of oceanography at Jadavpur University in Calcutta.
Scientists at the university have noted an alarming increase in the rate at which sea levels have risen over the past decade in the Bay of Bengal.
Another nearby island, Lohachara, was submerged in 1996, forcing its inhabitants to move to the mainland, while almost half of Ghoramara island was underwater, Mr Hazra added.
At least 10 other islands in the area were at risk. Bangladesh, a low-lying delta nation of 150 million people, is one of the countries worst-affected by global warming.

Japanese researchers hope one day to turn blood-sucking mosquitoes -carriers of deadly malaria -into deliverers of a vaccine that could instead inoculate millions for free.
A new study shows real promise for turning the reviled insects into heroes by genetically modifying them to make them “flying vaccinators“, according to scientists at Jichi Medical University north of Tokyo.
The researchers have already genetically modified a mosquito species so that its saliva contains a protein that acts as a vaccine against leishmaniasis, a sandfly-borne disease that triggers terrible skin sores and can be fatal.
The team confirmed that mice bitten by the transgenic mosquito developed an antibody to the disease, meaning they had built up immunity, said Shigeto Yoshida, the associate professor who has led the research.
Similarly the mosquitoes could be used to help combat malaria, perhaps a decade from now, said the malaria expert. “What's good is that they don't charge you for vaccinations,“ Yoshida told AFP by telephone on Wednesday.
“You would be vaccinated without even noticing. You wouldn't need any drug and you wouldn't need to show up at a designated place for mass vaccinations.“
Repeat bites would only strengthen the immunity, he said.
For now a problem is that no effective vaccine exists, because malaria's antigen, which triggers immune reactions, changes frequently.
However, Yoshida expects science will come up with a solution, and that the transgenic mosquito will ultimately help rid the developing world of a deadly scourge.
Nearly one million people die each year from malaria -most of them children -predominantly in Africa and Asia, according to the World Health Organisation.
There are several anti-malarial drugs, none of them universally effective, and a treatment, called artemisinin.

A boy in China who has 31 fingers and toes - a world record - is to undergo surgery to remove the extras digits.
The 6-year-old boy, from the city of Shenyang in China's northeastern Liaoning province, has a total of 31 fingers and toes - 16 toes, and 15 fingers (although one of those fingers is incomplete, being a fork at the end of the right thumb.) Three fingers on each hand are fused together. That beats the current world record of 25, held jointly by two Indian children, Pranamya Menaria and Devendra Harne, who both have 12 fingers and 13 toes.

An astonishing picture has emerged that shows a teenage boy with what appears to be a 10-inch knife embedded in his skull after a row over a computer game.
Chinese media have reported that the boy was playing the online game Counter-Strike with his friends at an internet cafe when the attack occurred.
Xiao Wei, 16, of Mishazi town, in north-east China's Jilin province, even walked to the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Jilin University with the help of his friends.
The cleaver was stabbed into Wei's left temple, leaving only the handle protruding, and exited 1cm from his right temple.
'His face was covered in blood, but he was still conscious,' said Professor Yan Shijun, deputy director of neurosurgery department of the hospital.
Wei and his friend Huang were playing Counter-Strike and defeated most of the 'enemies' in the virtual world.
'When we were playing games, a group of people from the same cafe came to us, saying we must install some software to win the game. Then we had an argument with them,' said 18-year-old Huang.
Wei and Huang were allegedly pulled out of the cafe and beaten to the ground outside.
Huang said: 'My left arm was stabbed through by them, and when they had gone, I found Xiao Wei was lying on the ground with a knife in his head.'
Gaming website Gamer Crave reported that the attackers had accused Wei of using a cheat code that allowed his character in the game to see through walls - making it easier to locate opponents.
Dr Yan said it was the first time during 23 years of medical practice that he'd seen a patient remain conscious after being stabbed through the head.
X-rays and CAT scans confirmed that the cleaver luckily didn't hit any main arteries or nerves. However, the patient may have post-surgery complications like infections, brain damage, epilepsy fits, and tetanus.
Doctors operated for more than two hours to take out the knife, which has a blade measuring 14cm.
Wei's father said his son quit school last year as an 8th grader: 'He then worked from time to time, and spent most of the time at the internet cafe. We would never expect he would have such injuries at a cafe.'

Doctor Yan said last Wednesday that Xiao Wei had woken up from the surgery, and his condition was stable.
Police have obtained CCTV footage from the cafe and are continuing their investigation.

More than 1,300ft above the roaring Rio Negro in Colombia, nine-year-old Daisy Mora prepares to throw herself over the abyss. 
Attaching herself to an old and rusted pulley system she drops over the edge before plummeting at 40mph along a zip wire to the opposite bank half a mile away - a vertigo-inducing journey she has to take every day to get to school. 
For the handful of families living in the area, 40 miles southeast of the capital Bogota, the 12 steel cables that connect one side of the valley to the other are their only access to the outside world. 

German explorer Alexander von Humboldt was the first Westerner to observe the unusual rope system in 1804.
They were traditionally made of hemp, but steels cables were installed with the advent of logging in the surrounding rainforest. When this was made illegal settlers turned their hand to farming and cattle raising.
Today, the cables are still the only transport available to those living in the area. 
Farmers use them to transport goods to and from the closest town and, for children like Daisy and her five-year-old brother Jamid, it is how they get to school.
Jamid is too young to safely ride the wire on his own, so she has to carry him with her in a jute bag, controlling their speed with a wooden fork.
Photographer and author Christoph Otto, who took these amazing pictures, suspended himself above the valley on one of the cables to capture people making the remarkable journey.

Bhai Sarwan Singh, the head priest of Surrey’s Guru Nanak Sikh temple, was already acknowledged as the man with the world’s longest beard, but now, his facial hair is even longer.
The Sikh priest was recently invited to take part in a television show, in Rome Italy, where he had his beard measured. After carefully measuring his beard, from the tip of his chin, to the end of his beard, judges decided Bhai Sarwan Singh has beaten his previous record, set in 2008, by two inches. It is now 1.895 m long.
Singh, who has never shaved his facial hair, had never actually known how long his beard really was, until 2008. He has always seen it as a gift from God, and he only agreed to appear on television, to promote the Sikh religion. He has done nothing special to help his beard grow, and calls it his “favorite body part.”
To prevent it from actually touching the floor, Bhai Sarwan Singh wears his long beard rolled up or over his shoulder.

ဘုန္းႀကီးေတြက ကေလးေတြအေပၚ လိင္ကိစၥ မေတာ္မတရားျပဳခဲ့တာနဲ႔ ပတ္သက္ၿပီး ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းၾကီး ဘင္န္နဲဒစ္ (Benedict) က အိုင္ယာလန္ႏုိင္ငံက ကက္သလစ္ ဘာသာ၀င္ေတြကို ေတာင္းပန္လိုက္ပါတယ္။ ဒီကိစၥနဲ႔ ပတ္သက္လို႔ ပထမဆံုး ေပးစာတစ္ေစာင္ကို ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းႀကီးက ထုတ္ျပန္ရာမွာ ခုလို ေျပာခဲ့တာပါ။ 

စေနေန႔ကထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့ၿပီး အဲဒီ ခုနစ္မ်က္ႏွာရွိတဲ့စာထဲမွာ အိုင္ယာလန္ႏုိင္ငံက မ်ိဳးဆက္ခ်ီခဲ့တဲ့ ကက္သလစ္ဘာသာ၀င္ေတြ စိတ္ဒုကၡနဲ႔ အရွက္ခံစားခဲ့ရတာကို ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းႀကီးက ေဖာ္ျပထားပါတယ္။ "ဘုန္းႀကီး တကယ္ပဲ ၀မ္းနည္းပါတယ္" လို႔ စာထဲမွာ ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းႀကီးက ဆိုထားပါတယ္။

ခရစ္ယန္ဘုရားေက်ာင္း ေက်ာင္းထုိင္ဘုန္းေတာ္ႀကီးေတြဟာ မေတာ္မတရားလုပ္ခဲ့တဲ့ ကိစၥနဲ႔ပတ္သက္ၿပီး အမွားေတြ လုပ္ခဲ့ၾကတယ္လို႔ သူက ဆုိပါတယ္။ အိုင္ယာလန္မွာ ရွိတဲ့ ကက္သလစ္ဘုရားေက်ာင္းေတြကို တရား၀င္ဌာနခ်ဳပ္ကေန စံုစမ္းစစ္ေဆးမွာ ျဖစ္တယ္လို႔ ေၾကညာပါတယ္။

The Pope issued a formal apology yesterday to victims of child abuse by Irish Roman Catholic clergy, saying he was 'truly sorry' for their decades of suffering.

Benedict XVI rebuked Irish bishops for 'grave errors of judgment' in their handling of the scandal and ordered an investigation into the Irish Church.
But the Pope did not admit any Vatican responsibility for a cover-up.
Nor did he spell out specific punishments for bishops accused of concealing years of abuse by priests and nuns.
The Pope's apology will have a strong resonance in other countries where similar highly damaging clerical abuse scandals have surfaced, including his native Germany.
